- Domain
- UPS_SYSTEM
- Reference standard
- IEC 62040-3 / EN 50600-2-2
What it means
The UPS is running from its battery bank because the input utility voltage is missing or out of tolerance. If mains does not return within the available runtime, the UPS shuts down and the load drops.
Probable causes
- Utility outage or upstream switching operation
- UPS input circuit breaker tripped
- Missing phase or wrong phase sequence upstream
- Input voltage outside the UPS tolerance window
- Input circuit failure / rectifier in protection
Where to start
Measure the UPS input voltage (phase-phase and phase-neutral) upstream of the maintenance bypass switch and check the dedicated breaker.
