What it means
The drive has received an external fault signal via a dedicated digital input. This input is typically connected to external protection devices such as motor thermal relays, pressure switches, panel thermostats, mechanical protections, or safety circuits. The drive stops because a condition external to the drive itself requires a stop.
Probable causes
- Motor thermal overload relay tripped
- Thermostat or pressure switch protection tripped
- Safety circuit opened (E-stop, light curtain, limit switch)
- External fault input wiring broken or incorrect
