- Reference standard
- UNI EN 60335-2-75 (Coffee appliances) / PED 2014/68/EU
- Product / context
- Boiler pressure/temperature not reached (Classe 9/20: E02; Classe 11 USB: E05; Silvia Pro X: E02/E03)
What it means
The boiler does not reach the operating temperature or pressure within the expected time: the board reports a heating timeout and inhibits dispensing. Typical causes are an interrupted heating element, a faulty relay or triac, or a miscalibrated pressurestat.
Probable causes
- Heating element interrupted or not energized.
- Failed power relay or triac not energizing the element.
- Safety thermostat tripped or pressurestat out of calibration.
- Heating element encrusted with limescale or insufficient mains voltage.
Where to start
With the machine heating, measure the voltage across the boiler heating element: is the supply voltage present?
