What it means
The gate motor goes into overload: it stops mid-travel or restarts with difficulty. It is almost always mechanical — dirty or deformed track, misaligned rack, worn pinion — not electronic: the first check is how freely the leaf slides by hand.
Probable causes
- Rail dirty, rusty, or deformed
- Rack damaged or misaligned
- Motor pinion worn or not engaged
- Mechanical limit switches not adjusted
- Fixed obstacle preventing full travel
