- Domain
- UPS_SYSTEM
- Reference standard
- IEC 62040-3
What it means
The connected load exceeds the rated output current: the UPS alarms and, beyond threshold, transfers to bypass or shuts down to protect the inverter.
Probable causes
- Total load beyond the UPS kVA/kW rating
- Phase imbalance on a three-phase UPS
- Inrush current peak (rack power-up, PSU inrush)
- Short circuit or failed power supply downstream
- Load power factor worse than the design value
Where to start
Read the load percentage per phase (or total on single-phase) from the display or management card.
