ON BYPASS Eaton — On Bypass / Inverter Fault
At a glance
- Severity
- DEGRADED
- Domain
- UPS_SYSTEM
- Reference standard
- IEC 62040-3 / EN 50600-2-2
What it means
The load is fed from the static bypass, not the inverter: no protection from mains disturbances and zero runtime. A utility failure in this state drops the load.
Probable causes
- Manual bypass left active after maintenance
- Inverter fault (power component, driver)
- Overload that forced the transfer
- Internal temperature beyond limit (fans, filters)
- Utility distortion or frequency outside the window
Where to start
Read the event log and the bypass transfer reason: manual, overload, overtemperature, inverter fault.
