What it means
On superautomatic machines the board detects an error during the movement of the upper or lower piston of the brew group and interrupts the cycle. Typical causes are mechanical obstructions, worn components or misaligned limit switches.
Probable causes
- Coffee residues or foreign objects blocking the piston.
- Worn ejector or piston shaft.
- Failed spindle motor or limit switch.
- Brew group out of calibration.
Where to start
Switch off and restart the machine, then inspect the brew group: are there coffee residues, foreign objects or visibly worn components (ejector, shafts, limit switches)?
