What it means
Commissioning procedure after replacing a PV inverter. Includes configuration of CEI 0-21 protection parameters, grid code setting, verification of correct operation, and notification to the distribution operator.
Probable causes
- Inverter replacement due to irreparable fault (power board, lightning damage).
- Inverter upgrade to a newer model or different size.
- Preventive replacement under warranty for a known manufacturer defect (recall/service bulletin).
- Regulatory update requiring inverter replacement for CEI 0-21 ed. 2019 compliance.
- Replacement of the associated datalogger or SmartLogger.
Where to start
Before installing the new inverter, verify compatibility: does the maximum DC voltage of the strings fall within the inverter range? Is the string short-circuit current below the MPPT input Isc max? Is the new inverter the same size (or compatible) as the previous one?
