- Domain
- LIGHTING_AUTOMATION
- Reference standard
- IEC 62386 / EN 60669-2-1
What it means
The dimmer does not regulate light intensity: the light stays fixed at one level (typically 100% or 0%) and does not respond to dimming commands from the button, bus, or application. The dimmer may be stuck in protection mode.
Probable causes
- Dimmer overloaded (connected load exceeds maximum power rating)
- Dimmer type not compatible with load type (leading edge for resistive loads, trailing edge for LED)
- Non-dimmable LED driver connected to a dimmer
- Dimmer faulty internally (burned triac)
- Minimum load not reached (dimmer requires a minimum load to operate)
