What it means
The generator set does not start on demand: with mains absent the load stays on UPS batteries until exhaustion. The most frequent and most severe failure of the emergency chain.
Probable causes
- Starting batteries discharged or degraded
- Battery charger or pre-heater out of service
- Starter motor or start relay failed
- Fuel not reaching the engine (solenoid, filters)
- Active lockout on the genset controller
