- DRIVES
- Reference standard
- IEC 61800-5-1
- Product / context
- Excess inverter temperature
What it means
Drive overheating detected by the temperature sensor on the heatsink or IGBT module. The temperature has exceeded the alarm or fault threshold. This compromises the reliability of the power components and can lead to IGBT destruction if not addressed.
Probable causes
- Drive cooling fan faulty or blocked
- Dust filter clogged or ventilation grille obstructed
- Ambient temperature inside the electrical panel too high (>40°C)
- Heavy duty cycle with high average current
Reference values
| drive thermal management | {"max_ambient_no_derating":"40 °C (typical)","derating":"above 40 °C reduce current per the manual","cleaning":"check heatsink fins/filter at every service"} |
