What it means
The inverter reports an internal hardware fault: power board (IGBT/MOSFET), control board, isolation relay, fan, internal power supply, or other component. The inverter is locked out and requires specialized technical intervention.
Probable causes
- Atmospheric overvoltage (lightning) damaging the control board or power semiconductors.
- Natural wear of electronic components after years of operation (electrolytic capacitors, relays).
- Internal fan failure with subsequent overheating and IGBT module damage.
- Internal short circuit due to water ingress (compromised IP protection rating).
- Firmware error after a failed update or memory corruption.
Where to start
Read the specific error code (sub-code) from the inverter display or the monitoring portal. Note the full code and timestamp. Is the code a generic error or a specific sub-code?
Full guided diagnosis in the app
The diagnostic tree for this fault has 6 guided steps with measurements, checks and resolutions. You'll find it in ElectraIQ, one of the five IndexOS apps: free, works offline.
