What it means
The badge reader does not recognize the presented card: the LED stays red and the door does not open. The problem may involve the badge itself, the reader, or the access control system configuration.
Probable causes
- Badge not enabled in access management software or with expired time slot
- Badge damaged (RFID chip broken or magnetic stripe demagnetized)
- Reader with faulty or disabled RFID antenna
- Badge format not compatible with reader (Mifare, HID, EM4100)
- User database not synchronized between server and local controller
