What it means
The genset controller is not in AUTO or has active pre-alarms: on an emergency demand the unit will not start. Often discovered at the monthly test or, worse, in the real event.
Probable causes
- Controller left in MANUAL after a test or maintenance
- Lockout not reset after an intervention
- Unmanaged active pre-alarms (battery, charge, levels)
- Pre-heater or charger out of service
Where to start
Check the selector/controller state and the active pre-alarm list on the controller.
