407 GoodWe — AC Overcurrent / Overload
At a glance
- Severity
- FAULT STOP
- Domain
- INVERTER_FV
- Reference standard
- IEC 62109-2 / CEI 0-21
- Product / context
- AC Output Overcurrent
What it means
The inverter detects an AC output current exceeding the rated value. The overcurrent protection trips and the inverter shuts down. Possible damage to power components if the condition persists.
Probable causes
- AC-side fault downstream of the inverter: short circuit on a phase or interrupted neutral.
- Inverter oversized relative to the AC cable cross-section or breaker rating.
- Current imbalance between phases in three-phase systems due to excessive single-phase load.
- Harmonic resonance with power factor correction capacitors present in the installation.
- Internal inverter bridge fault (shorted IGBT) generating overcurrent.
Where to start
With the inverter off, measure the resistance between phases and between each phase and neutral on the AC output cable (disconnected from the inverter). Are the values consistent (no short circuit)?
