- IEC 61800-5-1
- Product / context
- Overcurrent
What it means
Overcurrent detected during acceleration or at steady state. The drive detects an output current exceeding the maximum allowed threshold and immediately trips to protect the IGBT power module. Can be caused by a short circuit on the motor cable, mechanical load blockage, incorrect ramp time settings, or drive undersizing relative to the motor.
Probable causes
- Short circuit on the motor cable or at the output terminals
- Mechanical load blockage or excessive resistive torque
- Acceleration ramp time too short relative to the load inertia
- Incorrect motor data in the drive parameterization
Where to start
Disconnect the motor cable from the drive U/V/W terminals and measure the insulation between phases and to ground with a 500V megger. Are the values above 1 MΩ?
